Niagara Falls:

Niagara falls is a combination of three falls, namely the American falls, Bridal Veil falls and the Canadian falls(Horseshoe falls). Niagara falls is located on the Niagara River in the border between USA and Canada. Niagara falls is known for it's renowned beauty, hydro-electric resource and natural wonder drawing people from all over the world. Niagara falls is shared between the Twin Cities, Niagara falls, New York, USA and Niagara falls, Ontario, Canada.

The American falls can be viewed from the Goat Island or by standing on the river bank or from the observation tower. The American falls receive approximately only 9% of the Niagara River water while 90% of volume flows through the Canadian falls from which it is separated by Goat Island.



The Canadian falls are larger with a lengthy brink of 2,600 feet when compared to 1,060 feet of American fall's. As we can see, the Canadian falls resembles a horseshoe hence it is often referred to as Horseshoe falls.

Bridal Veil falls is located between Luna Island and the Goat Island and it is the smallest of all three falls. It is located very near to the American falls and it appears as if its a part of the American falls. The Bridal Veil falls got name because of it's appearance and it is separated from the American falls by the Luna Island.

The best season to visit Niagara Falls is from June through August. While the falls is open all year round to visitors, some of the attractions are seasonal like Maid of the Mist(a boat that takes you very near to the falls), Observation Tower etc.
