A company that provides access to the internet is called as Internet Service Provider(ISP)and ISPs are also known as Internet Access Providers(IAP). ISPs service individuals, small and large businesses. You can choose from one of the many options like Dial Up, DSL, Cable, Satellite, Wireless provided by internet service providers for your internet needs. Some plans require a commitment of minimum 12 months sign up and some plans don't. Few ISPs provide free trial version for 1 month or for some specific hours so that you can use it and when you are completely satisfied, you can go for it.

As a sign-on offer few ISPs will charge less amount for the first few months and later they will charge their standard rates, even waive installation and setup charges sometimes. The internet monthly subscription amount would normally range from $10 to $50 per month depending upon type of the plan and length of the contract you choose. Dial-ups are at lower rates around $10, Cable and High Speed are around $40, and satellite connections are at higher rates around $50.
