DSL (digital subscriber line) is a technology by which a user connects to the internet from his or her terminal or personal computer via old copper phone wires. There are several types of DSLs like DSL, ADSL, SDSL each of which differs in speed, reliability, and price.
- DSL - Digital Subsciber Line
- ADSL - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line - Almost All residential connection use ADSL. Speed of uploading and downloading the data will be different. In general the downloading speed will be 128 megabits per second and the uploading speed will be between 128 to 256 kilobits per second
- SDSL - Symmetric DSL- This is used by businesses and the uploading and downloading speed of the will be ranging from 256k to 768k.
