Emmy Award
  • The Emmy Awards are organised and presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
  • The Emmy Awards are presented to honor the achievements in the areas of the television industry.
  • The winners are chosen by conducting a ballot among the group of 12,000 academy members in their field of expertise for each category of the Television media.

  • There are three areas in which Emmy Awards are given out:
  • Primetime Emmy Awards honors the achievement in the national prime-time programming.(Primetime - The evening hours, generally between 7 and 11 P.M., when the largest television audience is available)
  • Daytime Emmy Awards are preseneted to honor the excellence in American Daytime Television Programming.(Daytime - The time between sunrise and sunset)
  • L.A Area Awards are presented in recognition of excellence in Los Angeles Area Local Television Programming.
  • The Emmy statuette is a winged woman holding an atom reflecting TV Academy's goal of supporting and uplifting the arts and science of television.
